- This week
we are on Spelling Unit 13. This unit contains words that contain
long vowel sounds. Remind them that long vowels all say their
own name. Our vocabulary words this week are about blue whales.
It is very timely because our stories both last week and this
week are about whales.

- In religion
we are learning about Moses, the Pharoah, and the nine plagues.
We will also be learning about the Exodus from Egypt.

- This week
in Math we will be learning about odd and even numbers.
We will also begin to learn about less than and greater than
and
when to use the and the symbols.

- We are
beginning a chapter in Social Studies called People and
Places. We will be learning about people and places in our communities.
We will also be learning some map skills such as using map grids
to locate something on a map.

- Our story
in reading this week is called A Whales' Song. It is
fiction and it is much easier to read than last weeks story.
- Remember
that our Christmas Program is Dec, 17th. Be sure to save that
date because we want everyone to participate!
